Consecutive birdies at the seventh, eighth and ninth put Fisher in a great position going into the back nine wherever three more birdies and 3 bogeys proved to be enough to safe his maiden title.
He told europeantour.com: “I can’t actually describe what it implies. Following the year that I’ve had it is a relief in that sense.
“It feels amazing. I’ve place a great deal of difficult work in and to come out, my fifth season on Tour, to finally have won it feels like now I’m there. I’ve established to myself I can win.
“It just exhibits what the game of golf can do – how undesirable it can be and how excellent it can be.”
Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti carded a last-round 66 to move into a clear third place whilst Fisher’s compatriot Gary Boyd finished fourth, five shots off the best.
