Valencia angry at Barcelona youth team raids, says president Llorente
Los Che have seen the Catalans swoop for 10-year-old midfielder Enric Martínez and 11-year-old striker Abel Ruiz, two transfers that have not been well-received at Mestalla. The two clubs are currently locked in talks regarding Jordi Alba’s transfer to Camp Nou, but Llorente insisted that the incident will not affect negotiations for the Spain international.
“We are angry at Barcelona because we cannot understand how a club this big need to take players who are 10 and 11 years old from your youth ranks,” Llorente told COM Radio.
“But that will not have any influence. Jordi Alba’s subject is one related to professional football, and the other one is related to our youth teams. “The state of negotiations? Barca are the one who are interested, we simply joined them at the negotiation table. So you should ask them.”
Valencia president Manuel Llorente has revealed that he is unhappy that Barcelona have landed two players from his club’s youth ranks.
